A Cognitive Competition for Healthy Aging

In May 2023, the first “MMZK Cup” Senior Wooden Toy Competition, themed “Welcoming the Asian Games and Enjoying a Happy Old Age”, was successfully held at the Huzhou Municipal Senior Service Center.

Hosted by the Huzhou Municipal Health Commission and the Huzhou Municipal Office for Aging Affairs, and co-organized by Le Ling Kai Xin Wu · MMZK, the event brought together senior teams from different districts and counties to participate in a series of cognitive and recreational challenges, including Pitch-Pot, Huarong Road, Tower of Hanoi, Tangram, and Skill Ball.

Through engaging games and friendly competition, the event demonstrated the value of active aging and showed that seniors can maintain cognitive vitality, confidence, and happiness through meaningful activities.

Eight Games Supporting Brain Health

The competition featured eight carefully designed events focusing on cognitive skills, hand-eye coordination, fine motor ability, and problem-solving skills.

Individual events included:

  • Dragon’s Tail
  • Dexterity (Tangram)
  • Releasing Cao Cao (Huarong Road)
  • Fishing for the Moon (Skill Ball)

Team events included:

  • Winning in One Shot (Pitch-Pot)
  • Ants Moving House (Tower of Hanoi)
  • Sesame Blossoms
  • Right on the Wish (Ring Toss)

These wooden cognitive games allowed seniors to exercise their brains and hands while enjoying communication, teamwork, and social interaction.

King of Wisdom Challenge: Inspiring Continuous Growth

In addition to the regular competition, the event introduced the “King of Wisdom Challenge”, where participants competed for the fastest completion records. Anyone could challenge the current champion and become the new “King of Wisdom” by breaking the record.

This innovative format transformed cognitive training into an enjoyable and motivating experience. Seniors were encouraged to keep practicing, improving, and challenging themselves.

As one participant shared:

“I will practice harder and try to break my record next time.”

This simple goal reflects the deeper value of the competition—helping seniors gain a sense of achievement, participation, and confidence.

Bringing Brain Health into Senior Care

The competition welcomed seniors from 60 to 77 years old. For them, the event was not only about rankings but also about enjoying activities, connecting with others, and experiencing the joy of participation.

Through this event, Le Ling Kai Xin Wu · MMZK aims to promote the concept of cognitive training through play and provide innovative solutions for senior care organizations.

In the future, the company will continue developing age-friendly cognitive training products that combine brain health, social interaction, and joyful experiences, helping more seniors stay mentally active and enjoy a healthier, happier, and more meaningful aging journey.
