The Intergenerational Space Project at the Shaoxing Social Welfare Institute
Shaoxing City Social Welfare Institute Cognitive Rehabilitation Activity Space Project

Build Integrated Cognitive Rehabilitation Space
To further enhance the quality of life for the elderly, enrich their daily recreational activities, and promote cognitive health and physical and mental development, the Shaoxing City Social Welfare Home has introduced the “Happy House for Seniors” series of cognitive training products. This initiative creates a comprehensive cognitive rehabilitation activity space that integrates cognitive training, rehabilitation activities, interactive entertainment, and social engagement, providing residents with more scientific, professional, and engaging non-pharmacological intervention solutions.

Introduction of Diversified Training Equipment
Based on the facility’s specific needs, this project has been equipped with a range of products, including cognitive training game boards, interactive wall games, and fun competitive games. The cognitive training game boards cover a variety of cognitive skills, such as memory, attention, logical thinking, visuospatial abilities, and hand-eye coordination. Through progressively designed games, they guide seniors to think actively and keep their minds engaged in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The wall-mounted games make full use of the public activity areas, integrating daily rehabilitation training into interactive experiences. Not only do they exercise upper-body mobility and fine motor skills, but they also encourage residents to participate actively, boosting their enthusiasm for activities. The competitive games foster a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere through teamwork and friendly competition, promoting interaction among residents as well as between residents and caregivers, thereby enhancing their sense of social engagement and psychological well-being.

Multiple Benefits Brought by the Program
Once the program is implemented, care facilities can flexibly organize a variety of recreational activities—including individual training, group activities, and fun competitions—tailored to the physical condition and cognitive levels of different seniors. This helps seniors train through entertainment, recover through interaction, and find joy through companionship. For caregivers, these products also provide richer and more convenient tools for organizing daily activities, enhancing both the professionalism and enjoyment of these sessions.

Optimize Elderly Care for Healthy Aging
In the future, Happy House for Seniors will continue to uphold the philosophy of “promoting health through play and conveying care through companionship.” We will persist in developing cognitive training and rehabilitation products tailored to the needs of older adults, providing more comprehensive solutions for senior care facilities, social welfare homes, rehabilitation centers, and community-based elder care services. Together, we will support healthy aging and enable more seniors to enjoy an active, healthy, and dignified life in their later years.
