Normal aging reduces the breadth and stability of attention in older adults, narrowing their focus and making it difficult to attend to multiple things simultaneously or resist distractions. In a matching puzzle game, players must locate and pair matching pieces to form a complete pattern; this activity requires sufficient attentional breadth to scan for various designs and attentional stability to persist in the task, while also relying on visuospatial skills to identify matching shapes. Additionally, the game exercises hand-eye coordination.
